VA Home Loans
VA Home Loans The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs guarantees mortgage loans for veterans and service persons. The guaranty allows veterans to obtain home loans with favorable loan terms, usually without a down payment. The purpose of the VA home loan program is to help veterans finance homes with favorable loan terms and favorable interest rates. For VA housing loan purposes, the term veteran includes certain members of the Selected Reserve, active duty service personnel and certain categories of spouses.
VA Maximum Loan Amount
Loan Amounts for VA loans can vary in size, but can not go over $203,000. With full entitlement, a veteran may be able to obtain a VA loan up to $203,000, depending on the veteran's income level and the appraised value of the property.
